The Blog: A New Year's Resolution

I have not blogged for 8 months. What?!? That is just pathetic. I am blogging more this year. Mark my words. I want to capture all the really great little moments in this life that will get lost if I don't  document them. For example we had an amazing Christams/New Year's vacation.
We took a horse drawn carriage ride through the park. Brady was like a little tour guide pointing out each light display to all the other passengers on the carriage. It was so cute. He loved Hank and Henry. At the end of the carriage ride Brady asked for Hank and Henry to give him another ride. The park was aglow with beautiful lights and awesome displays. It was magical.

We attended a Santa Breakfast at a fancy hotel downtown. Our friends invited us to join them at the breakfast. They go every year. It has definitely become a tradition for them. After attending the breakfast I can see why. This will definitely be a new family tradition for us. Carolers sing beautiful Christmas songs while you chow down delicious French toast. The hot cocoa came with an array of fun toppings and plenty of whip cream. Brian and Brady were in heaven. We had to wait for an hour to see Santa but there were activities for the kids set up along the way. Brady made a super cute gingerbread ornament (Brian really made it but Brady helped). When Brady finally did get to sit on Santa's lap he had a great experience. Santa took his time talking to Brady and was super engaged and nice. Brady told Santa he wanted a garbage truck and tow truck to tow the garbage truck.

Of course we got a picture with Rudolph before we boarded the boat to the North Pole.

We got about 5 inches of snow in one day. This is the first major snowstorm we've had all year. We bundled up and played in the snow. The snowman we built was adorable, and very special because it was Brady's first.
So much fun with cousins on Christmas day. We drove up to my Aunt and Uncles and joined my Mom's side of the family for a wonderful Christmas including a really intense white elephant gift exchange.
Brian and I snuck a date in during our vacation. We had cocktails at lunch, saw a movie, and finished the last of our Christmas shopping. It was a great day.
