The Blog: A New Year's Resolution

I have not blogged for 8 months. What?!? That is just pathetic. I am blogging more this year. Mark my words. I want to capture all the really great little moments in this life that will get lost if I don't  document them. For example we had an amazing Christams/New Year's vacation.
We took a horse drawn carriage ride through the park. Brady was like a little tour guide pointing out each light display to all the other passengers on the carriage. It was so cute. He loved Hank and Henry. At the end of the carriage ride Brady asked for Hank and Henry to give him another ride. The park was aglow with beautiful lights and awesome displays. It was magical.

We attended a Santa Breakfast at a fancy hotel downtown. Our friends invited us to join them at the breakfast. They go every year. It has definitely become a tradition for them. After attending the breakfast I can see why. This will definitely be a new family tradition for us. Carolers sing beautiful Christmas songs while you chow down delicious French toast. The hot cocoa came with an array of fun toppings and plenty of whip cream. Brian and Brady were in heaven. We had to wait for an hour to see Santa but there were activities for the kids set up along the way. Brady made a super cute gingerbread ornament (Brian really made it but Brady helped). When Brady finally did get to sit on Santa's lap he had a great experience. Santa took his time talking to Brady and was super engaged and nice. Brady told Santa he wanted a garbage truck and tow truck to tow the garbage truck.

Of course we got a picture with Rudolph before we boarded the boat to the North Pole.

We got about 5 inches of snow in one day. This is the first major snowstorm we've had all year. We bundled up and played in the snow. The snowman we built was adorable, and very special because it was Brady's first.
So much fun with cousins on Christmas day. We drove up to my Aunt and Uncles and joined my Mom's side of the family for a wonderful Christmas including a really intense white elephant gift exchange.
Brian and I snuck a date in during our vacation. We had cocktails at lunch, saw a movie, and finished the last of our Christmas shopping. It was a great day.

Mother's Day!! The best day!

I went on a 7 mile run. It was sunny and beautiful! It felt amazing!
I picked up this awesome shirt at the Bloomsday Trade show. The back of the shirt says--All Better. It is so true. Running helps me to be a more patient, kinder mom and wife. Running fuels in me in the best ways. I think it helps me be more productive at work too. When your job is to come up with creative ideas you need all the fuel you can get.

Brady made this handprint and footprint apron for me at school. I love it! This is by far the best present I have ever recieved. I plan to make a lot of cookies in this apron.

Brian took pics of Brady just before we headed out to brunch.

He is so cute. This morning he was saying "Walter and Water" while he was drinking his water. Walter is one of his friends from school. He wanted water right when he woke up. While drinking his water he kept saying 'Walter and Water." He thinks already thinks alliteration is cool. I dig this kid.

My brunch dates. They are so handsome.

We had the best brunch full of pomegranite mimosas and creme brulee french toast. Mother's Day was the best. I even got make-up from Sephora and a new phone case. My boys rock!

Thursday with Brady

I love Thursdays!! It is my day to reconnect with Brady. I do not have to worry about work and I can  focus on this cutie pie.
We chased Hula Hoops at Soccer-tots.

Brady and Brian playing with a yellow Hula Hoop.
Soccer-tots

It is so hard to get a picture of him because he is always in motion.

He slept in my arms on the couch for over an hour. It was the best cuddle time.

Brady loves playing in the Dinosaur eggs at the park. He keeps asking me if a dinosaur will eat him. I told him Dino's only eat veggies. He seems happy with that answer.

He loves jumping on the trampoline. A month ago he was scared of it. Now I can barrely get him off.

The slide. Sliding is seriuos business.

I made delicious honey mustard rosemary chicken for dinner. NOTE: We still have our Easter table cloth out.

Brady Turns Two

Time sure does fly when you are having fun. Brady is officially two. At two he says things to me like "I'm freaking-out" when we drive up to the park. He has a great sense of humor and will tell you "I funny." He is gentle, and sweet and loving. He is in love with trucks, trains, planes, tractors, motors (motorcycles), cars, his cousins, chocolate, cantaloupe, his daddy and his papa. I feel so lucky to be his mommy-totally cliche but totally true. We celebrated Brady's second birthday with a bouncy-castle party at Soccer-tots.
Before the party guests arrive.

Hanging with Uncle Scott

Brady was scared of the jump-jump but he LOVED watching his cousins jump.

All the kids were more than willing to help Brady open his presents.

The big present is basketball hoop from Papa.

His Whine is cute

Brady's is whiney, but it is so cute, unless something is really wrong, but I don't think that it is. I think he has found his new way of communicating and it is coming out in the from of a sweet little whine.

I heart Thursdays

I am lucky enough to have a part-time work schedule. I work MWF from the office and couple hours Thursday and Friday from home. When Thursday roles around I am giddy with excitement because I know I get the whole day, well, the next four days with Brady. Thursday morning we aren't rushing around the house trying to get two adults and a baby out the door. The morning isn't a flurry of bag packing, lunch packing,  coffee gulping one word conversations. Thursday morning Brady and I wake up slowly. We enjoy the morning. We both take our time eating breakfast and enjoying each others company. I know each day with Brady is a gift and to be able to slow down and really enjoy him is the best. Right now he is sleeping in his swing. Don't tell him he is asleep. SHHHH! He would be so mad.

Happy Seven Months

Brady is seven months old today. I seriously can't believe that he five months away from being one year old.  Being his mom really is magical. I love him so much. He is he best thing that has ever happened to Brian and I. Tomorrow I will post more about his seven month self. For now enjoy these pictures.
